Frequently Asked Questions

What are your appointment hours?
The Neuropsychiatric Clinic currently schedules appointments mornings and afternoons, Monday through Thursday. Our first appointment of the day is usually 8:00 AM and our latest appointment of the day is typically around 4pm or shortly thereafter. Our office is closed for lunch between noon and 1 pm. Typically on Fridays the office hours are 8:00 AM to 1PM. On occasion and/or whenever new patient intake volume necessitates, Friday afternoon and/or Saturday appointments may become available.

Do you take Insurance?
The Neuropsychiatric Clinic accepts most major network insurances. We also accept self pay patients and Health Savings Accounts. Some of the insurances accepted are:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Aetna
  • United Health Care
  • Magellan
  • Cigna
  • Humana
  • Medicare
  • Medicaid
  • Wellcare
  • Amerigroup
  • Cenpatico
  • Tricare

What are your fees/payment?
Fees vary according to appointment length and/or complexity. Your copay and/or coinsurance is due at the time of arrival for scheduled appointment. Self pay rates are typically on par or below the average for psychiatrists in the region.

What is your cancellation policy?
We require 48 hours of advance notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Without such notice, barring emergencies or exceptional circumstances, there is an administrative (no-show fee)for all missed appointments. This notice does not include weekends or holidays.

Are you available for emergencies?
We do have a 24/7 answering service. However, it is advised that for psychiatric emergencies you and/or family members should call 911 and/or report to the nearest Emergency Department.

What is your confidentiality policy?
We exercise the highest degree of confidentiality and privacy possible in the performance of our clinical work. We will not discuss your treatment with any outside agency unless we have your written consent.

Do you prescribed controlled substances?
We do prescribe benzodiazepines and typically for short term usage in very conservative doses which requires monitoring of the GA controlled substance database and Urine Drug Screening as indicated. We also prescribe psychostimulants in the treatment of ADHD that requires the same. Dr. Warner also treats Adult ADHD with an onset prior to 12 years old. Dr. Warner has been MAT certified since 2006 and due to the national opioid epidemic will begin accepting patients for Medication Assisted Treatment, i.e. Suboxone which will also require stringent monitoring/testing as with other controlled substances.

How do I get started?
When you first call for an appointment, your information will be obtained including how you were referred to our practice, a brief description of the problems you are experiencing, and what insurance company you have. Assuming there is a fit between the type of problem you are experiencing and and our clinical capabilities, you will be contacted and an appointment scheduled and the consultation process will begin.

What's a Consultation?
The initial consultation is the process of learning as much as we can about you. This usually involves some combination of listening and asking questions. We will want to know about the current difficulties you are experiencing, when they began, how they have progressed. We also want to know what approaches you have taken to alleviate these symptoms and the results of these efforts. What has helped and what has not helped in the past will help us understand your situation and help us generate therapeutic recommendations. We will also want to know you family history in order to know if anyone else in your family has suffered from similar psychiatric problems.
